I got these Strathmore artist sketch cards a while back and used them for a drawing at the Chicago Comic Con back in August. They come in all kinds of paper types - bristol, watercolor paper, illustration board, etc. It's not that amazing, but I love these tiny little buggers. They're only 2.5" x 3.5" each. So this image is actually significantly bigger than the original. This one was done of the character Death by Neil Gaiman (one of my all time fav authors) and was painted using my schmincke watercolor half pan set.
The watercolour has gone down so nicely here. There's some modelling in the greys and some nice , direct, unfussy simplicity. I like you working small like this.
